Biological Treatment

After primary treatment, the wastewater undergoes biological treatment to remove organic matter and nutrients. This often involves activated sludge processes, where microorganisms break down organic pollutants in aerated tanks. Other biological treatment methods include trickling filters and rotating biological contactors.
