Primary Treatment

Upon arrival at the STP, wastewater undergoes primary treatment, which involves physical processes to remove large solids and debris. Screening removes large objects, while grit chambers remove heavier particles like sand and gravel. Primary sedimentation tanks allow suspended solids to settle out of the wastewater.
